Heard Mr. A. Sengupta, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner. Also heard Mr. S.M.Chakraborty, learned Sr. counsel assisted by Mr. P. Charkaborty, learned counsel appearing for the respondents-ONGC Ltd.

The present writ petition has been filed for disbursement of the final bills raised by the petitioner for execution of a contract work under an agreement, but, the respondents are sitting idle with the bills. The petitioner has only prayed for a direction upon the respondents to examine the bills and take a decision in this regard.

In view of the submission rendered by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, the present writ petition is disposed of on consent of the learned counsels appearing for the parties at the admission stage itself with the following directions:-

(i) The respondents-ONGC Ltd. shall examine the bills, if any, raised by the petitioner for execution of his works.

(ii) The examination and verification of the bills shall be completed within a period of 3 months from the date the respondents shall receive a copy of this order.

(iii) After such examination and verification of the bills, the respondents shall communicate the petitioner about their decision regarding payment of the bills.
