The petitioners through the instant petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India are seeking direction to respondents to decide the representation dated 30.05.2023 (Annexure P-7).

The petitioners are retired Central Government Employees. They claim that respondent has not paid them Dearness Allowance for the period from January’ 2020 to June’ 2021 on the pretext of Covid-19 and financial constraints.

Mr. Shailendra Sharma, Advocate, at the outset, submits that grievance of the petitioner, at this stage, would be redressed if respondents are directed to decide their representation in a time bound manner.

Mr. Arihant Goyal, Senior Panel Counsel, who on advance notice is present in Court, accepts notice on behalf of the respondents-UOI.

With the consent of both sides, the present petition is taken up for final disposal.

Learned counsel for the respondents submits that Competent Authority would look into grievance of the petitioners and pass an appropriate order within 3 months from today.

In the wake of statement of learned State Counsel, the present petition stands disposed of with a direction to respondents to decide the representation of the petitioners within a period of 3 months from today.
