By way of present petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, petitioners are seeking issuance of direction to respondents No.2 and 3 to protect their life and liberty at the hands of respondent No.4.

Notice of motion.

Mr. Jaspal Singh Guru, AAG, Punjab, appears and accepts notice on behalf of the official respondents.

As per petitioners, they have married on 06.06.2023 against the wishes of respondents No.4, who happen to be the relative of petitioner No.1 i.e. Arshdeep Kaur.

Both the petitioners claim themselves to be major stating that petitioner No.1-Arshdeep Kaur is 13.03.2002 born and petitioner No.2-Gurdarshan Singh is 18.06.2001 born as per their Aadhar Cards.

Without commenting on the legality and validity of the marriage, I deem it appropriate to direct respondent No.2 to consider the representation dated 13.06.2023 (Annexure P-4) filed by the petitioners.

Keeping in view the fact that both the petitioners claim to have married, I think that if possible, respondent No.2 may call a meeting of the petitioners as well as respondent No.4 in his presence, so that the parties get rid off their ill feelings and live amicably.

The petition stands disposed off.
