Ravi Malimath, J.—The case of the petitioner is that he was appointed as I.T. Consultant in the respondent office on contract basis for a period of two years w.e.f. 31.10.2007. On 28.01.2010, he was discharged from his services on the ground that he has taken certain unilateral decisions. Questioning the same, the present petition is filed. The learned counsel for the petitioner is absent. There was no representation when the matter was called even on 05.07.2012 and on. 28.08.2013.

2.

The learned Government Advocate contends that it was a contractual appointment which has seized on 31.10.2009. The termination order has been passed after the said period has since expired. Therefore, the petitioner could not have any grievance.

3.

On hearing the learned Government Advocate, I am of the considered view that no effective order can be passed in the present petition. The appointment of the petitioner was on contract vide an appointment order 31.10.2007 initially for a period of one year, which was extended upto 31.10.2009. The impugned order of discharge was passed on 28.01.2010, which is after the expiry of the period. His service has been continued upto 28.01.2010. Under these circumstances, there is no merits in this writ petition. Consequently, the petition is dismissed. Rule discharged.
