Judgment
At the oral request of the Petitioner, leave to amend petition so as to remove photographs of the victim is granted. The same shall be kept in a sealed envelope.
Heard the Petitioner and learned APP for the State. The petition is filed seeking direction to transfer investigation. We have gone through FIRs. The allegations are indeed of very serious nature. In one of the CRs, serious allegations are made against the police officers. And shockingly, those police officers have taken upon the investigation. What is more serious is that whereabouts of the victims are not known to the Petitioner or police.
In above circumstances, before passing any effective order, we direct Advocate General to assist us in the matter. The Commissioner of Police, Pune shall depute officer not below the rank of DCP to attend this Court on the next date. We appoint Mr. Mihir Desai, Senior Advocate as amicus curie in the matter to assist us in the matter. Registry is directed to furnish copy of the petition and annexures thereto to Mr. Mihir Desai, Senior Advocate.
For further hearing, Registry is directed to place this matter before us on 31st March 2017 at 3.00 p.m. Matter to be treated as part-heard by this bench.
