The matter has been taken up for hearing through video conferencing due to outbreak of COVID-19.

The petitioner has filed the present petition under Section 438 Cr.P.C. for grant of anticipatory bail in FIR No.78 dated 19.05.2020 under Sections 188,

269, 270, 271, 380, 448, 511, 406, 506 and 342 IPC as well as Sections 53 and 57 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005 registered at Police Station

Bullowal, District Hoshiarpur.

Vide order dated 11.06.2020, this Court had granted interim bail to the petitioner and directed him to join the investigation as and when called to do so

and in the event of his arrest, the petitioner was ordered to be released on interim bail by the arresting officer/investigating officer on furnishing of bail

bonds by him to the satisfaction of the arresting officer/investigating officer.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that during the intervening period, the matter has been compromised between the parties. He further

submits that even a separate petition seeking quashing of the aforesaid FIR on the basis of compromise has been filed by the petitioner i.e. CRM-M-

6262-2021 titled as Ankit Anand Versus State of Punjab, wherein the parties have been directed to appear before the Illaqa Magistrate/trial Court for

recording their respective statements with regard to compromise/settlement on 25.03.2021 vide order of even date passed by this Court.

The factum of compromise between the parties has not been denied by learned counsel for the complainant.

In view of the fact that the matter has been compromised between the parties and a separate petition i.e. CRM-M-6262-2021 titled as Ankit Anand

Versus State of Punjab has already been filed seeking quashing of the FIR in question on the basis of compromise, the present petition is allowed and

the interim bail granted to the petitioner vide order dated June 11, 2020 is made absolute.

However, if required, the petitioner shall continue to join investigation as and when required to do so and shall abide by the terms and conditions, as

laid down under Section 438(2) Cr.P.C.
