Anil Kumar vs Circle Inspector of Police and Others

Thottathil B. Radhakrishnan, J.—Heard learned Counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Pleader. Having regard to the nature of the directions being issued hereunder, notice to private respondents is dispensed with, reserving their right to seek re-hearing of this writ petition, if needed.

The petitioner alleges that there is threat to life with reference to certain overt acts attributed by the party respondents, including some local people in the context of certain family disputes, that have ultimately led the petitioner''s brother-in-law to be hospitalized.

Learned Government Pleader submits on instructions that two crimes have been registered. It appears that there is a case and a counter case. This is a matter for the police to take care of. It is further stated that there is no threat to life as such.

In that event, it is directed that the police will ensure that law and order is maintained and any complaint of threat to life will be properly attended to, in accordance with law.

The writ petition is ordered accordingly.
