Judgment

Case has been heard through Video Conferencing in view of COVID-19 Pandemic.
Petitioner was convicted vide order dated 10.1.2020 for offences under Sections 302, 307, 341, 506, 148, 149 of Indian Penal Code and under Section
25 of Arms Act and sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for life vide order dated 14.1.2020. Allegations against him are that he committed
murder of Vijay Pal by using fire arm. On the basis of evidence produced by the prosecution, he was convicted and sentenced as above.
On 24.3.2020, certain guidelines were framed by a High Powered Committee pursuant to the directions issued by Hon'ble Supreme Court in SLP
(Civil) No.1 of 2020. In view of same, petitioner was granted furlough for 21 days vide orderdated 2.4.2020 passed by the Commissioner, Rohtak
Division, Rohtak. Present petition has been moved to extend furlough which would be expiring on 25.4.2020 and to grant another six weeks special
furlough to the petitioner as per the guidelines.
At the outset, Mr. Sabharwal has apprised us that on 20.4.2020 another meeting of the Committee was held wherein it was decided that the convicts
who have been granted parole/furlough, the same would stand extended by another three weeks. In such eventuality, petitioner would be required to
surrender on 16.5.2020 forenoon.
In view of statement, grievance of petitioner stands redressed. Furlough granted to the petitioner would stand extended by another period of three
weeks in terms of the decision taken by the Committee. Learned counsel for the petitioner undertakes that the petitioner would surrender before the
jail authorities on 16.5.2020 forenoon.
Disposed of.
