This Public Interest Litigation has been preferred with the following prayers:-

"a) Writ, order or direction in nature of Mandamus or any other appropriate writ, order or directions to the Respondent to take cognizance of the plight of the prospective applicants in terms of fairness for the selection of the position of the Local Commissioners by making suitable amendments in the criteria of the selection process;

b) any other order or directions as the Hon'ble Court may deem fit and proper in the facts and circumstances of the case be also passed in favor of the Petitioner;

c) Cost of the Present Petition be also allowed in favor of the Petitioner and against the respondent."

Having heard the petitioner who appears in person and looking to the provisions of Section 123 of the Code of Civil Procedure, 1908 (CPC), we hereby dispose of this writ petition with a direction to the respondents that this matter be treated as a representation and be placed before the Rules Committee of this Court constituted under Section 123 of the CPC within a period of one week from today. We request the Rules Committee to look into the desirability of framing uniform Rules for all the Districts in Delhi for the selection of the Local Commissioners, after considering the issues raised in this writ petition.

With these observations, this writ petition is hereby disposed of.
