This court, considering the gist of the controversy and grievance of the petitioner in the writ petition, on 23.02.2022 passed the following order:

“Registry has raised the objection qua maintainability of the writ petition on behalf of the father and wife of Sri.Shafeeq Epparambath. It has been clarified that the Embassy of Bahrain is not permitting to execute power of attorney for filing the writ petition and therefore the petitioners being father and wife are treated as parokar ie., in representative capacity. The said permission is granted. Inter alia alleges that petitioners approached this Court for correction of passport of Sri.Shafeeq Epparambath bearing No.K8715722 ie., for insertion of surname submitted an application to the Embassy of India, Baharain, and on enquiry, it was found that a crime case had been registered against Sri.Shafeeq Epparambath in which he was already granted anticipatory bail as per the order dated 18.07.2018 Ext.P3. However, he could not put in appearance and proceedings for initiating proclaimed offender are pending consideration. In other words, arrest warrants have been issued. Sri.Shafeeq Epparambath is detained in Bahrain but intends to travel to India and seek legal remedy in respect of the crime case and prays for issuance of appropriate directions to passport authority for issuing a temporary passport/travel documents to travel to India.

Issue notice before admission. Adv.Krishna accepts notice and seeks two days’ time.

Post this matter on 25.02.2022.”

In pursuance of the above, learned counsel on behalf of ASGI submits that as per the instructions, the temporary passport/travel documents would be issued by giving instructions to the Indian High Commission in order to enable the petitioner to travel to India to seek the vindication of the grievances referred to in the order aforementioned.

Recording the above undertaking on behalf of the ASGI, the writ petition is disposed of with direction to issue passport documents within a period of one week from today. The moment the petitioner comes, the immigration people along with local police from where the warrants have been issued in respect of the crime case, will take action in accordance with law.
