Heard learned counsel for the parties.
By means of the present writ petition, the petitioners have sought indulgence of this Court for a direction to respondents to include the name of the petitioners in the present Gram Panchayat voter list of 2024-25 in gram panchayat Karanpur, Tehsil-Kashipur, District Udham Singh Nagar.
Learned counsel appearing for respondent nos. 2 and 4 submits that the petition filed by the petitioner is premature in nature as door to door survey for preparation of the voter list is going to be conducted w.e.f. 20.10.2024 to 16.11.2024 and the petitioners’ name would be included in voter list in that door to door survey. It is further contended by learned counsel for the respondent-Election Commission that after the survey, the tentative voter list would be published on 07.01.2025 and against that list, the petitioners may also make an application/objection if, even after the survey, their name is not included in the tentative voter list.
This Court feels substance in the submissions made by the learned counsel for the respondent.
The writ petition is premature and is accordingly dismissed.
