“10.1) This Hon'ble Court may kindly be pleased to call for the entire records pertaining to the case of the petitioner from the possession of the respondents for its kind perusal.

10.2) That, this Hon'ble Court may kindly be direct the respondent no. 1 to 3 to correct the class 5th mark sheet of the petitioner as Suryavanshi in place of Satnami caste.

3.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner belongs to the Suryavanshi caste, whereas his caste has been erroneously recorded as Satnami in his Class V marksheet. It is further submitted that the caste certificate issued by the competent authority, namely the Gram Panchayat, as well as the petitioner’s educational records and the Dakhil-Kharij Register pertaining to his father, record his caste as Suryavanshi. Learned counsel clarifies that the petitioner is not seeking any declaration regarding his caste in the present petition but is seeking only correction of the erroneous entry in the school record. It is, therefore, contended that the respondents, being public authorities, are required to consider the petitioner’s representation and pass an appropriate reasoned order in accordance with law.

4.

Learned State counsel submits that the petitioner’s request for correction of the caste entry in the school record is required to be examined by the competent authority in accordance with the applicable rules and procedure. It is further submitted that the documents relied upon by the petitioner would require verification before any correction can be made. Accordingly, the petitioner may be directed to approach the competent authority by filing an appropriate representation along with the relevant documents, which may be considered and decided in accordance with law.

5.
