Judgment

Case is taken up for hearing through Video Conferencing. This petition has been filed under Article 226/227 of the Constitution for issuance of a writ
in the nature of mandamus directing respondents No.1 to 3 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioners at the hands of respondents No.4 to 7.
Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that petitioner No.1 was married to one Shafeek Ahmed and no child was born out of the said wedlock;
that petitioner No.1 was maltreated by her husband and later on, she was divorced on 13.07.2021, and that petitioner No.2 is also a married and his
marriage is still subsisting.
Learned counsel for the petitioners further submits that the petitioners are major and have performed NIKAH against the wishes of respondents No.4
to 7; that they apprehend danger at the hands of respondents No.4 to 7, and that they have sought protection to their life and liberty. The
NIKHANAMA evidencing their marriage, is on record as Annexure P-1. The petitioners have submitted a representation dated 24.01.2022
(Annexure P-4) to respondent No.2-Superintendent of Police, Nuh.

On the asking of this Court, Mr. Ashok Singh Chaudhary, Addl. A. G. Haryana, accepts notice on behalf of respondents No.1 to 3.
Without entering upon an exercise to evaluate the evidentiary value of the documents placed on the file, I dispose of the present petition with a
direction to respondent No.2-Superintendent of Police, Nuh, to decide the representation dated 24.01.2022 (Annexure P-4) moved by the petitioners,
and grant protection to them, if any threat to their life and liberty is perceived. It is made clear that this order shall not be taken to protect the
petitioners from legal action for violation of law, if any, committed by them.
