Judgment
M. Jaichandren, J.—This writ petition has been filed praying for a writ of mandamus to issue suitable direction to the second Respondent to follow the provisions of Section 91 of the Tamil Nadu Panchayats Act, 1994, in the selection of the Village Panchayat Assistant of Thottakudi Panchayat, Nanguneri Village, Tirunelveli District, which had been scheduled to take place in the first week of August, 2010.
Heard Mr. D. Saravanan, the learned Counsel appearing on behalf of the Petitioner, Mr. R. Manoharan, the learned Government Advocate appearing on behalf of the first Respondent, as well as Mr. D. Gandhiraj, the learned Government Advocate appearing on behalf of the second Respondent.
The learned Government Advocate appearing on behalf of the first Respondent had submitted that the selection of Village Panchayat Assistant of Thottakudi Panchayat had already been completed, in the month of August, 2010, and therefore, the writ petition has become infructuous.
In view of the said submissions made by the learned Government Advocate appearing on behalf of the first Respondent, the writ petition is dismissed as infructuous. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
